Description:
The red fox is Britain's most widespread wild carnivore. It is easily recognised by its reddish-orange coat, pointed ears and long bushy tail. Foxes are mostly active at night, although they can also be seen during the day. They are opportunistic feeders and use their excellent hearing and sense of smell to locate food.

Woodlands, farmland, grasslands, mountains and urban areas.

Diet:
Omnivore — small mammals, birds, insects, worms, fruit and other available food.
