Real grassroots campaigning experience — Wild Youth was founded and developed from the grassroots, giving us first-hand experience of what it takes to turn an idea into an organised campaign.
Proven Track Record — Led a national campaign against glue traps that secured 41,000+ petition signatures in just three months, making it the fastest-growing UK Parliamentary petition at the time. The campaign secured EDM 1477 and cross-party political support, contributing to the Glue Traps (Offences) Act 2022, which made setting glue traps to catch rodents an offence in England, subject to limited exceptions.
Understanding of Parliament and policymaking — With experience working in Parliament as a Parliamentary Assistant, we understand how campaigns can engage MPs, policymakers and other decision-makers effectively.
Policy Expertise — Wild Youth is backed by a founder with academic expertise in Public Policy and Politics, combining an MSc in Public Policy and a BA (Hons) in Politics with practical experience in campaigning, parliamentary affairs and policy engagement. This allows us to combine real-world campaigning experience with a strong understanding of how policy and political change happen.
Experience working across sectors — Previous work with organisations including the National Marine Aquarium and animal welfare charities has involved bringing together policymakers, scientists, charities and community stakeholders around shared objectives.
